I retired my remedy canine, Simba, a number of years ago, and shortly after that, faced shedding him as he came to the tip of a full life. I am presently looking forward to rescuing one other canine to coach as a remedy dog within the close to future. I really feel especially fortunate for the opportunity to work with a fantastic group of people that hold the identical passions for dogs as I do. It goes without saying that this has been a troublesome year for all of us. COVID-19 has accomplished a number on not solely ATD but the entire nation, even the whole world.

I am so impressed with the things our members are doing to “maintain a hand in” the therapy canine scene while most locations are closed to us. I know that when this passes, and it will cross finally, ATD will bounce back as robust as ever. It appears solely a short while ago that I attended my first board assembly yet now I am a seasoned veteran. This board is a tough-working group that may be very dedicated to canine remedy. It is endlessly working to keep Alliance of Therapy Dogs because the premier accrediting group in the nation. I even have so enjoyed these nearly three years of serving on your Board of Directors. We are comprised of some amazing individuals whom I enjoy attending to know better.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, our three canine, and one cat. We travel whenever potential and have been to 17 states thus far and we hope to have the ability to go to all 50. We have been to Mexico and the Bahamas and would love to tour Europe someday. The most exciting factor to me about visiting new locations is the meals and the tradition, there’s all the time something new to try and learn. I do not miss all the work, however I do miss the friendships I even have made. I know that each of us really LOVES sharing our particular canines with others.

We have so many talented teams in this group and I love getting to satisfy so many people who love their canine just as much as I do. By my aspect is my husband, Axel, who not solely shares my love of animals, but is the reason I received into canine within the first place. Axel is a large help with all of the work that comes along with having a hobby farm with quite a lot of animals and can be an active tester/observer for ATD. In 2006, I turned a Tester/Observer, joined the board in 2009, and have worked with many great teams for the previous 18 years. I love meeting new individuals and their canine and listening to how much they enjoy their many adventures. Our Tosa Ken, Saint Bernard, and Dogue de Bordeuax all had the honour of being registered ATD canines. Over the years, my visits have included nursing houses, educational seminars, hospice, a local airport, hospitals, church companies, and Girl Scouts.
